RFU’s mobile coach will offer free flu shots and health screenings at the North Chicago Public Library tomorrow, September 15, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Free flu vaccines are available without insurance on a first-come, first-served basis for anyone six months and older, alongside free adult vaccines for uninsured individuals and VFC child vaccines by appointment. Visitors can also receive free blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol screenings (fasting required), as well as rapid testing for strep, flu, COVID-19, UTIs, and ear infections.

To help keep our school safe and ensure that everyone understands our expectations, we are sharing a flyer that explains the difference between a Tutor Legal Voluntario (Guardian Legal Volunteer) and a Visita Breve de Tutor Legal (Brief Guardian Visit).
💚 Guardian Legal Volunteer
If you are volunteering to help in the classroom, interact with students, assist with activities, support transitions, or participate in field trips, you must complete the required volunteer background check before volunteering. Once approved, you will check in at the school office and receive your volunteer identification.
💙 Brief Guardian Visit
A brief visit is intended for a short, specific visit or special occasion, such as a classroom celebration, birthday, holiday activity, or bringing something to your child. These visits are generally 20 minutes or less and do not involve providing classroom support.
Important: A brief guardian visit cannot be used as a substitute for completing the volunteer process when you are volunteering or helping in the classroom.

Organic Life is hiring full-time staff for the Food Service Department at North Chicago High School. Open positions include experienced cooks, dishwashers, and cashiers. These positions offer a family-friendly Monday-through-Friday schedule with no nights or weekends required. 🚐 District 187 families: The Rosalind Franklin University Health Clinics Community Care Connection is bringing free health services directly to our community to help keep our students healthy! They offer free health screenings, minor sick visits, and access to community resources, with fully bilingual support in English and Spanish.
💉 If your student needs immunizations, the clinic provides free vaccines for children ages 2 and up who are uninsured or Medicaid-eligible, as well as vaccines for uninsured adults. Appointments are strictly required for all vaccines. When attending a child's vaccine appointment, parents or legal guardians must bring their ID card, proof of Medicaid insurance, and the student's vaccine record.
📅 The mobile clinic stops right here in our district at the North Chicago Public Library on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., in addition to other nearby locations in Waukegan, Park City, and beyond. Because the clinic sites often reach capacity early, please call 847-578-8670 to schedule your vaccine appointment or to check if they are still accepting walk-in patients that day.
